The Usual Spots for Termite Colonies

Sometimes, a termite infestation is very hard to deal with. There are many things you have to do so in order to exterminate the infestation. This can be accomplished by hiring companies that provide termite pest control. When the company sends an exterminator, it would be best if you were to tag along with him or her so you can see, where the infestation is strong. Here are some of the places he or she will look:

1.       Garden

The garden is one of the most typical places you will find a termite colony mound. You will also notice that from the garden, dirt like trails will lead from the mount up to other wooden items such as trees and garden furniture.

2.       Tool Shed

A tool shed would have a high possibility of nesting the termite colony mound. This is because tools sheds are not regularly visited than other places of the house. Also, there are a lot of things in a tool shed that will hide the mound from plain sight and is how termite colonies will thrive without being noticed.

3.       House Walls

You will notice that an exterminator will start to use his or her termite scanner on the walls of your house. This is not only to see the activity of the termites, but to check if the colony is located inside the house.

4.       Cabinets

Termite colony mounds can be found within cabinets and you just would not notice. The exterminator would usually move some items inside the cabinet or move it that will show a hidden colony.

These are just some of the places an exterminator would take you to show you where the termite colony can be found. This is why it is so important to get termite pest control as soon as possible before things get worse.
